PRIVACY POLICY

This statement, which is incorporated into and made a part of the Member/User Agreement, discloses the privacy practices for The Connection Tree web site. It is our intention to notify you of the following information:

• The personally identifiable information collected and which organization is collecting the information
  
  
• How the information is used and with whom the information may be shared
  
  
• Choices available to you regarding the collection, use and distribution of the information
  
  
• Types of security procedures in place to protect against the loss, misuse, or alteration of information under the Company’s control
  
  
• How you can correct any inaccuracies in the information

• 1. The Connection Tree’s Privacy Statement. The Connection Tree provides a variety of online and in person services for real estate investors, lenders, owners, managers, realtors, mortgage brokers, trades people, networkers, and other professionals. The Connection Tree values your privacy and vigorously protects all personal information that you provide. Any user information we collect is considered private, and we do not use or share such information without the user’s permission except as permitted herein. We use this personal information at The Connection Tree to provide the best quality service possible. The following policy statement summarizes The Connection Tree’s protection and use of any personal information provided by Members or visitors to The Connection Tree Site.
  
  
• 2. Information Collected by The Connection Tree. The Connection Tree collects user information when Site Users purchase products or services or become a Member or Associate on The Connection Tree Site, as well as if and when The Connection Tree conducts any surveys and/or contests. The Connection Tree collects individual user search activity for statistical, archival, and business purposes. If the User opts to use any of the specialized listing or networking services provided, The Connection Tree may collect financial information about our Site Users, their properties, businesses, and services. Subsequent to creating a Member Profile, the Site User can upgrade through various levels, including Member, Preferred Member, or Associate, or a combination thereof, in which case a Site User may be requested to provide additional information depending on the level of use they desire. The Connection Tree may track the IP address of a user’s computer or place a "cookie" in the browser files of a user’s computer. This may be used by The Connection Tree services to provide automated features and for other purposes that enhance the usability of our site.
  
  
• 3. Use of Information Collected. Collected information helps The Connection Tree better understand its Site Users’ needs in order to improve its product and service offerings. E-mail addresses are used to communicate with Site Users and for Site administration purposes. Personal information may be used to contact Site Users for the purpose of research, product development, marketing, or customer service, if the user has opted to receive such communication. User search activity is collected and analyzed and may be utilized by The Connection Tree in the aggregate or in the abstract for a variety of business purposes. IP address, session IDs and cookie log data are analyzed to better understand traffic flows and user preferences.
  
  
• 4. Use of Communication and Networking Tools. Members may not use the online communication and networking tools that we offer to send spam (i.e. unsolicited commercial e-mail) or otherwise send content that would violate The Connection Tree’s Member/User Agreement. We may monitor, track or save the use of these features, but will be under no obligation to monitor, track, or save messages sent. We also do not rent or sell e-mail addresses of Site Users.
  
  
• 5. Shared Information. The Connection Tree does not sell, rent, or lease user information to any third party, except as disclosed herein. Although The Connection Tree makes every effort to preserve User privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order, or legal process served on our site.
  
  

When a Site User becomes a Member of The Connection Tree, the Member will create a Member Profile in accordance with the Posting Policies and Guidelines. The Member Profile allows the Member to post certain contact information to our nationwide searchable Member Directory. After the Site User posts a Member Profile, other Site Users who query the Member Directory will be able to view the Site User’s Supplemental Information when his/her Profile is listed as a search result. The system will provide the functionality for the Member to be contacted confidentially without disclosing the Member’s contact information. Upon receiving the confidential contact, the Member may then elect whether or not to establish open communication with the searching Member. While the Company provides the functionality for confidential contacts within the Member Directory, the nature of this Site is to for Users to establish their own personal networks. Therefore, the Company assumes no liability for your personal disclosure of your own information to other Member/Users, whether intentional or not, particularly if you elect to use other Connection Tree services which may require public posting of personal information and which may or may not offer the confidential contact functionality.

Unless required by law as detailed in this section, The Connection Tree does not share individual user search activity information and such activity information remains private to the individual user and to The Connection Tree.

Unless this Privacy Policy affirmatively prohibits The Connection Tree from disclosing information provided to The Connection Tree by Site Users, The Connection Tree may share with others any and/or all information provided to The Connection Tree by Site Users to the extent that The Connection Tree deems such disclosure appropriate for the purpose of providing related services in which we believe our Site Users may be interested. The Connection Tree may use third party providers to perform e-mail and postal mailings on behalf of The Connection Tree, but this information (such as name, address, and e-mail) is confidential and is not used by the provider for any other purpose.

From time to time, The Connection Tree may obtain information (such as electronic mail addresses) from third party providers. It is our goal to only contact individuals who we believe may have a legitimate business interest in The Connection Tree based on their membership or participation in other organizations or web sites, and who have indicated a willingness to be contacted for this purpose. While The Connection Tree endeavors to work with other sites and companies with a similar respect for user privacy, The Connection Tree cannot be responsible for the privacy practices of other sites.

Please be aware that in the event The Connection Tree merges with a third party or substantially all of The Connection Tree’s assets are acquired by a third party, customer information, including personally identifiable information, will be shared and/or transferred to such third party. The information may only be used or shared by such third parties for the primary purpose for which the information was originally collected. If such third parties, or if The Connection Tree for its own business needs, desire to use the personally identifiable information for another purpose, you will be notified prior to the information being used for a new purpose, and you will have the opportunity to opt out of such new use of your personally identifiable information.


• 6. Security of Personal Information. The Connection Tree’s Site Users and their personal information are considered to be The Connection Tree’s greatest asset, and, thus, The Connection Tree strives to respect Site Users’ privacy. The Connection Tree takes every reasonable precaution to secure personal information within both its computers and its physical premises.
  
  
• 7. Opting-Out, Editing, Updating, or Deleting Personal Information. The Connection Tree utilizes e-mail as a vital and primary communication channel with its registered Members/Users. As a registered user, you hereby acknowledge and grant The Connection Tree the permission to communicate with you via e-mail (as well as other communication channel such as phone and fax) for any purposes The Connection Tree determines to be relevant including, but not limited to, system messages, product updates, service announcements, and other marketing messages. The Connection Tree will use best efforts to honor customers request to opt out of marketing messages, but under no circumstances will The Connection Tree have any liability for sending any e-mail to its registered Site Users.
  
  If you do not wish to receive marketing e-mails, you may opt out in your Member Back Office. We also send our Site Users site and service announcement updates. Registered Site Users are not able to un-subscribe from service announcements, which contain important information about service notices and responsibilities. The Connection Tree occasionally communicates with its Site Users via e-mail and phone to provide information about requested services and regarding issues related to their account. Requesting the deletion of certain types of user information may prevent Site Users from accessing some web site features.
  
  You may correct or update your personally identifiable information by making the appropriate changes on your Member Profile page. You may temporarily or permanently hide your Member Profile from viewing by other Members.
